Ray Sample and Vil Areola met while studying music at Union College in Lincoln Nebraska. 
It didn’t take them long to discover that they shared the same love for inspirational music and many happy hours were spent in what they called
“jam sessions” where they simply would go through the hymnal, spontaneously creating their own arrangements.
The response of one listener after hearing these arrangements in concert was, “They took our favorite hymns and gave them a new facelift!”
